In 1987, the Calistoga Inn gave birth to Calistoga beer and the Napa Valley Brewing Company. The Inn was the first establishment to brew beer commercially in Napa County since the days of prohibition. It brews four principle beers: Calistoga Wheat Ale, Pilsner, Red Ale & Porter. In addition, other seasonal beers are brewed throughout the year, such as the German Kölsch, Blitzen I.P.A., Belgian Pale Ale & Dugan Oatmeal Stout.
Napa Smith Brewery has the unique experience of being the only production craft brewery in the city of Napa, a town known world-wide for a different fermented drink. Brand new beer fans and longtime beer geeks alike are welcome to come experience for themselves where all the milling, brewing, fermenting, bottling, and lab work takes place.

We craft ales and lagers with an emphasis on controlling the raw materials furthering the expression of a time, place and the people that make it happen. The best beers are always crafted while including the community. The Napa Valley is an incredible place that inspires us to grow, ferment and create: wine, food and beer! We have an endless number of skilled farmers, viticulturists, and just fun people to work with that love the dirt. At the end of the day, beer is kind of like people…we are distinctive, complex, diversified, and prone to be interpreted in many different ways.
