NAPA VALLEY

CALISTOGA

Established in 2010, Calistoga is located at the intersection of the Vaca Mountains and the Mayacumis Mountains, just a few miles north of the town of St. Helena. The area is characterized by large fluctuations in temperature similar to mountain AVAs and volcanic soils, which produce impressive Cabernet and Zinfandel wines, including Old Vine Zinfandel.

RUTHERFORD

Established 1993, Rutherford is on the valley floor and warmer than it’s southern neighbor, Oakville. Known for its great and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon.

HOWELL MOUNTAIN
Established in 1983, Howell Mountain is the first sub-AVA in Napa since 1983. A small region that consists of just 1,000 acres.

Elevation 600–2,600 feet (186–806 m)

Principal Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Viognier.

DIAMOND MOUNTAIN
Established in 2001, Diamond Mountain is situated on the northern end of the Mayacamus Mountains, where volcanic soils are prominent. Diamond Mountain is also home to Schramsberg and Diamond Creek.

Elevation 400–2,200 feet (130–530 m)

Principal Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

MOUNT VEEDER
Established in 1993, Mount Veeder marks the start of the Mayacamus Mountains from the Bay Area. Located atop volcanic soils similar to Calistoga, most of the vineyards in Mount Veeder grow Cabernet.

Elevation 600–2,600 feet (155–806 m)

Principal Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Chardonnay.
