A sprawling California Mission-style structure with graceful arches and an expansive courtyard in Oakville, Robert Mondavi Winery offers one of the most extensive tour programs in the industry. Robert Mondavi’s estate offers tours, tastings, culinary    experiences and an expansive outdoor concert hall. While you’re there, check out the Fumé Blanc—Mondavi’s recreation of the Sauvignon Blanc developed in 1968. Darioush offers stunning architecture within their 22,000 square foot winery. Darioush was the first in America to combine architecture, design and Persian culture. Additional design features include, fireplaces, ironwork, lighting, cellars, and an amphitheatre for performances and events. Del Dotto is a family-owned winery that focuses on small production, sourcing grapes from the best, organically-farmed vineyards in the valley. There are two properties: St. Helena Venetian Estate Winery & Caves and Napa Historic Winery & Caves. There are cave tours, bar tastings and food and wine paring options. The tour is 90 minutes and for most of it, you walk through the very historical caves which were hand dug in 1885.

Castello, the 13th century, Tuscan-style castle and winery is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year. The castle interiors, include 107 rooms on 8 levels above and below ground and cover approximately 121,000 square feet. Among many other features it has a moat, a drawbridge, defensive towers, an interior courtyard, a torture chamber, a chapel/church, a knights’ chamber and a great hall with a 22-foot high coffered ceiling. You have the option of general admission tastings, giving you access to roam two levels of the winery and taste 5-6 wines, guided tours, food and wine pairing tour or cheese and wine pairing tour. With breathtaking views of Napa and San Francisco Bay, Artesa Winery in the Carneros region is an essential destination for those who prefer to pair their wine with a pristine estate. Set into the highest hill of the 350-acre estate, the winery is kept naturally cool by its earthen construction. On the interior, two stories below the main entrance, is the meticulously managed barrel room where small wine lots are fermented, aged and artfully blended.
